Judy Buckner

Judy Buckner

At the age of nine, Judy Buckner signed her first painting in the front room studio of the Victorian style home of her childhood.   Her mother, being an accomplished portrait artist and art teacher in the community of Homer,  is her lifelong mentor.

Judy went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Louisiana Tech and studied in the Tech Rome Program.  She has also studied at the Finishing School in Atlanta and the Fredericksburg Artist’s School.  Her work is found in the form of murals in numerous churches, museums, and corporate buildings, as well as Louisiana Tech University.  She was featured as a mural artist on CMT Home Blitz television show.

Nothing stirs my heart like the interaction of paint, brush, and the paintable surface.  That’s where God’s blessings and my desire come together to delight the eye.  I am compelled to constantly search out effective ways of executing this process.
